DJIBOUTI, 7 October 2026 (#ADI) – Port infrastructure, free zones, position on one of the most frequent maritime routes in the world: Djibouti held on Wednesday its arguments before investors, during a panel of the French Economic Mission dedicated to business opportunities in the country.
The session, entitled “Doing business and investing in Djibouti”, brought together institutional leaders and private sector actors as part of a continuing mission to the Djiboutian capital.
Hosted by Malik Garad, economist-country of the African Development Bank (ADB) for Djibouti, the debate brought together Mariam Hamadou Ali, Associate Minister for Investment and Private Sector Development, Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh, President of the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce, and Aboubaker Omar Hadi, President of the Djibouti Ports and Free Zone Authority.
Hasna Barkat Daoud, a lawyer at the Djibouti Bar and Honorary Consul of Canada, also participated in the discussions.

In turn, stakeholders discussed the business environment, investment conditions, and port and logistics infrastructure. The role of free zones in the development of regional and international trade has been central to the discussions.
Through its representatives, Djibouti presented itself as a regional platform for trade and investment, backed by its geostrategic situation at the entrance to the Red Sea.
Finally, it should be noted that the meeting also aims to strengthen the economic links between Djibouti and the actors in the French-speaking area.
